Haiti Hospital Posters

About This Project:

For this project, Auburn University partnered with But God Ministries to create informational posters to send to The Hope Center in Thoman, Haiti. After extensive research about the needs and conditions in this part of rural Haiti, I identified pregnant women as an underserved facet of the community. My goal for this project was to create a series of posters and a brochure that would be friendly, easy to understand, and informative.

The posters are soft and textural to bring comfort to these women through this difficult time. They teach important lessons to soon-to-be mothers like how to breastfeed, stretching techniques, labor warning signs, and educating about prenatal vitamins. It was important to me to for these women to feel like they are not alone in this journey and that they have resources if they need them.

The brochure, that could be distributed to pregnant women at The Hope Center, would allow women to take home some of the information that is taught on the posters. The key feature of the brochure is that it also includes a pregnancy tracker when folded open. This tracker would help women to follow their pregnancy through the trimesters and make notes of anything they may want to address with their doctor.
